During duodenal phase I, the luminal concentration of 5-HT of the duodenum is 29 ng/mL, which is significantly increased to 59 ng/mL during the duodenal phase II. Luminal concentration of 5-HT of the duodenum is further increased to 250 ng/mL during phase III. In contrast to the duodenum, luminal concentration of 5-HT of the stomach is not significantly changed during phase I, II and III.
